Beware Black Shuck at Burgh Castle!

"And a dreadful thing from the cliff did spring, And its wild bark thrill'd around, His eyes had the glow of the fires below, Twas the form of the Spectre Hound"

A large Black Dog spotted at Burgh Castle, is this the beast of legends?
Black Shuck has been roaming the Anglian countryside since before Vikings. Some say he appears as a black mist, and looking into his glowing green, red or yellow eyes will bring illness or death, others say he is more a protector of women and will accompany them on their way home.

What do you think? Have you seen the beast?

Some more Autumn views from around Burgh Castle..
